Born in 1983 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Lives and works in Saint-Tropez, France
Russian-born French, contemporary artist, Ksenia Poncet, creates mosaics, murals and paintings, in her studio in Saint-Tropez, France. Her art is rooted in rigorous academic training: a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from the Sorbonne (Paris I and Paris III), she masterfully blends the traditions of mosaic and mural techniques with a distinctly contemporary themes. She lived, worked and exhibited in the USA, France, Netherlands, Germany and features in national and international private collections, including the United Nations Women’s Guild Art Collection at the United Nations in New York. Furthermore, at the United Nations Women’s Guild in New York, USA, the oldest United Nations charity organization, Poncet was actively engaged in fundraising charity programsfor children in vulnerable situations throughout different art projects.
Her unique visual language is underpinned by deep conceptual thinking. Through her murals and mosaics, Poncet explores the three fundamental pillars of human nature: mind, emotion, and spirit. Her art is strongly influenced by symbolism, post-conceptualism, and existentialism, and is driven by a relentless quest for the iconic representation of life. Her artworks capture the viewer tomeditate on the very essence of existence. Committed to a multidisciplinary approach, she also engages with drawing and wearable art, affirming a practice that is both rooted in tradition and boldly innovative.
